About Megaman Battle Network 5 Team Colonel

Megaman Battle Network 5 Team Colonel is a role playing game where players alternate between controlling a boy named Lan in the physical world and his digital companion Mega Man in cyberspace. The core conflict involves stopping a group that is spreading corrupting Dark Navi chips from a central factory.

Gameplay is split between exploration and combat. In cyberspace, navigation is interrupted by battles that blend real time action with turn based planning, where pre selected chips provide special attacks during challenging encounters. A distinct strategic mode called Liberation Missions requires players to reclaim territory in a step by step manner to reach a boss, functioning like a board game where each move initiates a fight.

This specific version introduces the character Colonel as a temporary playable figure during the story. It also supports a link function with the counterpart release Team Protoman to exchange battle chips, as some are exclusive to each game.
