About Summon Night : Swordcraft Story

Summon Night: Swordcraft Story centers on an apprentice Craftknight who enters a tournament to become the next Craftlord. This goal is pursued three years after the protagonist's father disappeared.

Combat occurs on side-scrolling battlefields, a system noted as similar to Tales of Phantasia. A key companion is a Guardian Beast, which provides magical support in fights. The player's early choices determine which of four distinct beasts becomes their partner.

Progression is tied to a unique crafting system, as weapons cannot be purchased or found. Creating them requires both specific techniques and raw materials, which are gathered by exploring a large dungeon and defeating creatures. The Guardian Beast also assists in this weapon-making process.

Narrative elements are influenced by nightly interactions, where time can be spent with the summon creature or other characters. These choices have some effect on how the story unfolds.
