About Shining Force : Resurrection of the Dark Dragon

Shining Force: Resurrection of the Dark Dragon is a Game Boy Advance remake of a tactical role-playing game. Its core conflict involves an army attempting to revive the Dark Dragon, a narrative that has been expanded with new story sequences and more detailed dialogue, including a now-vocal protagonist with a defined background.

The experience alternates between turn-based tactical battles and exploration of towns. In towns, players can acquire equipment and converse with residents. Battles allow a force of up to twelve members, drawn from a wide variety of classes such as knights, magicians, and healers. Several adjustments have been made to this system, including a simplified interface, the ability to preview turn order, and pre-battle unit organization.

New elements have been integrated to provide fresh incentives. A card-collecting side-quest introduces items that grant effects in combat, with one character specifically utilizing them for transformation. Furthermore, completing battles within a target number of turns yields bonuses, adding a layer of challenging optional strategy. The presentation has been updated with entirely new graphics and improved sound quality, though the musical compositions remain unchanged from the original. Secret characters and items are also present for players to discover.
