About Witchaven

Witchaven is a first-person action game built on the Build engine, placing the player in the role of the knight Grondoval. His quest is to stop the witch Illwhyrin, who has plunged his homeland into darkness and seeks to open a portal for demonic forces from her island fortress.

Progression is tied to a character level system, where defeating enemies and collecting items grants experience. Advancing through nine such levels increases the character's power and unlocks access to more potent magical scrolls. These scrolls provide spells like Fireball or Night Vision, though the most devastating ones, such as the disintegrating Nuke spell, have a minimum level requirement.

Combat utilizes a range of medieval weaponry, from daggers and swords to axes and halberds. Exploration yields potions that offer temporary benefits like healing or invisibility, supplementing the core melee and magical arsenal. The gameplay integrates this simple role-playing framework into a fantasy combat experience focused on navigating the witch's demon-infested lair.
