About Imperium Galactica
Imperium Galactica is a strategy game set in the fourth millennium where the player assumes the role of a human officer tasked with restoring the Human Empire. Progression is tied to military rank, beginning at lieutenant and advancing to Grand Admiral, with each promotion expanding the player's command over ships, colonies, and territory.
Management of controlled regions involves economic oversight, including tax collection and ensuring population needs are met to support growth. Scientific advancement is possible through dozens of discoveries made during gameplay. The strategic layer includes diplomacy with multiple alien species, each possessing distinct visual and military designs, providing alternatives to constant warfare.
Space and ground combat are present, with ship management requiring manual refitting of individual vessels. Planetary assaults are conducted using vehicle units in a style reminiscent of Command & Conquer. A narrative element is delivered through computer-generated voice work in an opening movie and various cutscenes that trigger upon rank advancement and at specific story points.
