Ultraman: Towards the Future ウルトラマン

Control the giant hero in a fighting game, using punches, kicks, and special moves to defeat monsters before time runs out.

Ultraman: Towards the Future (ウルトラマン) is a Super Nintendo (SNES) game developed by BEC and published by Banpresto, released in Japan on April 6, 1991. This is the original release of this specific game version, and no earlier release on any platform exists.

About Ultraman

Ultraman is a Super Nintendo Entertainment System adaptation of the 1967 television series. The player controls the giant superhero Ultraman, who assists the Science Special Search Party in defending Earth from alien monsters. These enemies are drawn from the original show's roster.

Gameplay unfolds in one-on-one combat encounters against these monsters. The character can execute basic strikes and grapples, alongside special moves that require charging. Victory is not achieved by simply reducing an opponent's health, as their life bar regenerates. Instead, the player must time the Specium Beam, Ultraman's strongest attack, to land when the enemy's health is fully depleted. Some adversaries can counter this tactic, requiring strategic adaptation.

The game imposes significant constraints on the player. Ultraman can only remain active on Earth for three minutes per stage, creating a persistent time pressure. Resources are limited to three lives with no option to continue, making the overall experience challenging.
