About Hyper Iria

Hyper Iria adapts a story from anime, which itself serves as a prequel to the Zeiram film. The protagonist is a bounty hunter named Iria, who operates in space and has repeated encounters with a persistent adversary known as Zeiram.

Gameplay alternates between two primary modes. Travel to an objective involves shooter sequences where Iria must handle ambushes. Once she arrives at a location, the perspective shifts to a ground-based exploration of maze-like environments with multiple routes.

Iria's capabilities include formidable hand-to-hand combat and the use of firearms and grenades, though ammunition for these is finite. Mission performance is graded, awarding currency that can be spent between missions to acquire new weapons and additional grenades. Players choose from four initial missions, with a fifth becoming available after the others are finished. Mission briefings are provided through conversations with an onboard artificial intelligence called Bob.
