Road Blasters ロードブラスターズ

Navigate 50 levels in a combat racing game, using weapons and managing fuel to survive enemy attacks and reach each finish line.

RoadBlasters was originally released in arcades by Atari Games in 1987. The Sega Genesis version was released in 1991 by Tengen.

About RoadBlasters

RoadBlasters presents a futuristic racing experience where players must navigate fifty distinct courses. The primary objective is to survive each course and cross the finish line, a task made challenging by hostile forces on the road.

Opposition comes in various forms, such as landmines, roadside cannons, and enemy vehicles including armored cars and motorcycles. To combat these threats, the player's car is armed with a machine gun. Additional firepower, like cruise missiles and a U.Z. cannon, can be obtained from power-ups delivered by an aerial weapons plane, which also provides temporary speed boosts.

Managing the vehicle's fuel supply is a central mechanic. This resource is limited and must be replenished to complete a level. Fuel can be acquired by reaching a course's midpoint or by collecting specific colored spheres found on the road or left by defeated enemies. Without this careful management, progression becomes impossible.
