Granada

Review
Also known as
グラナダ

This free-roaming shooter challenges you to destroy enemy weapons in a maneuverable tank.

Granada was released for the Sega Genesis in 1990 by Renovation Products in North America and by Wolf Team in Japan; it is an original game for the platform, not a port, so the original release year is also 1990.

About Granada

Granada is a scrolling shooter set in a near-future conflict over mineral resources. The player controls a powerful combat vehicle known as a maneuver cepter, piloted by Leon Todo, which roams freely across each area. Its objective is to eliminate all designated enemy weapons, which are tracked on an in-game map, before confronting a final boss.

The vehicle's arsenal includes a primary cannon and a secondary blaster with noticeable recoil. A unique tactical feature allows the weapon's aim to be locked in a direction while the vehicle continues to move independently. Additional support comes from collectible items that deploy defensive helpers, which can redirect the player's own fire toward nearby foes.

The structure consists of nine distinct stages, with the overall challenge being adjustable across three selectable difficulty levels.
