About Earth Defense

Earth Defense is a vertically-scrolling shooter for the Sega Genesis. Its premise involves an alien invasion, which humanity counters with a specialized aircraft called the Phoenix Spitfire.

Control of this craft constitutes the core gameplay, where the player navigates five distinct stages. Each stage concludes with a confrontation against a boss enemy. The primary action involves shooting down hostile forces encountered during flight.

The ship's standard weapon can be enhanced through power-ups dropped by defeated foes. These upgrades provide new capabilities, such as firing in multiple directions, deploying bombs, or gaining automated drone support.
