About Power Punch II

Power Punch II is a boxing title for the Nintendo Entertainment System where the player character, a human boxer named Mark Tyler, is taken to compete against extraterrestrial opponents. His abduction follows a boastful challenge he issued, which was heard by an alien race seeking to test his proclaimed invincibility.

The objective involves progressing through a series of one-on-one matches to secure a galactic championship. Gameplay is viewed from a third-person perspective showing both combatants, with a focus on evading attacks and learning opponent patterns to time counter strikes effectively. Control over movement is basic, making the core loop challenging and reliant on observation and reaction.

Preparation for these fights occurs in a training gym, represented by mini-games. Successful performance in these activities allows for statistical improvements to Mark's capabilities, such as his power, agility, or endurance, before the next match begins.

A bit of the story. This guy's pretty sure of himself!
And so's his manager, apparently.
Oh snap! Is that a challenge?
Our, uh, hero's profile.
You can train to improve your skills before each fight.
And here's your first opponent!
This isn't exactly what I'd call a ringside beauty...
Normal punches don't do much against your enemies.
