About Mega Man

Mega Man is a side scrolling platformer set in the futuristic Monsteropolis. The player controls the robot Mega Man, originally built for cleaning, who must now stop a scheme for world control. This threat originates from Dr. Wily, who has seized six specialized task robots named after their functions: Bombman, Gutsman, Iceman, Cutman, Elecman, and Fireman.

Gameplay involves navigating distinct levels to confront these robot masters. Defeating one allows Mega Man to permanently acquire and use that boss's unique weapon. These weapons are not merely alternate attacks; they are often required to access hidden areas and are specifically effective against other bosses, creating a strategic sequence for the player. A separate Magnet Beam tool can be found to construct temporary platforms.

Throughout the stages, numerous smaller robots provide opposition. Destroying them can yield restorative items, such as energy capsules for health and weapon capsules for the special abilities. The journey culminates in an assault on Dr. Wily's castle to end his rebellion.
