About Master Karateka

Master Karateka is a Game Boy adaptation of a side scrolling combat title. The player controls a martial artist who moves through a series of screens, facing a sequence of opponents.

The narrative context involves a lone warrior seeking vengeance against a foe named Akuma, who has destroyed his village and captured a character called Mariko. This version introduces completely new visuals and enemy designs adapted for the handheld's display.

Gameplay revolves around using the hero's hands and feet to fight. Punches and kicks are executed with separate buttons, and their trajectory can be altered using the directional pad. A distinctive feature allows for initial customization of the protagonist's abilities, letting players adjust their approach to the challenging encounters.
