Maui Mallard

Maui Mallard is a platform game where Donald Duck appears as a detective. His investigation involves a missing idol and takes him through environments populated by voodoo themed adversaries.

The gameplay centers on a dual character system. In his standard form, the detective uses a gun that fires insect based ammunition. Different bug types can be combined for increased effect against foes.

Collecting special coins allows a transformation into a ninja persona. This form employs a bo staff for combat and enables unique movement, such as climbing between walls and swinging from specific points. Maintaining this ninja state requires a continuous supply of the transformation coins.

This Game Boy adaptation presents a distinct level design with fewer hidden elements compared to other versions. Managing the two forms and their resources makes the adventure challenging.
