About Jurassic Park

Jurassic Park for the NES and Game Boy is a top-down action game incorporating exploration. The player controls Dr. Alan Grant across six levels, with objectives that include rescuing children, restoring power, and ultimately escaping the island.

Progression within a level is tied to collecting or destroying dinosaur eggs, which then yield items like passcards needed to access buildings or complete other tasks. Computer terminals found in the park provide guidance on the next steps. The environment is populated by hostile dinosaurs, which Dr. Grant can combat using a gun with several ammunition types that differ in damage and firing pattern.

Defeated dinosaurs drop basic ammo, while other ammo types and special boxes must be found. These boxes, marked with question marks, can contain beneficial power-ups such as health increases, but also pose a risk by sometimes revealing bombs. The experience includes boss encounters, such as a Triceratops stampede and a confrontation with a Tyrannosaurus Rex.
