Hit the Ice

Review
Also known as
ヒット ジ アイス

A fast paced arcade hockey game focused on hard checking and powerful super shots.

Hit the Ice was released for the Game Boy in 1990 by Taito, and the original arcade version was also released in 1990.

About Hit the Ice

Hit the Ice is a hockey game that prioritizes aggressive, arcade style action over realistic simulation. The objective remains to score goals, but the experience is defined by physical play and exaggerated moves, including a powerful shot that can knock the goalie into the net.

Matches feature three players per side and focus heavily on checking, creating a fast-paced environment. For solo or competitive play, exhibition and tournament options are available, while two players can also cooperate against computer controlled teams.

Platform specific variations exist; the TurboGrafx 16 version supports four player matches. The Game Boy release includes a distinct shot race mode, which challenges a single player to score a set number of goals as quickly as possible.
