About Wizardry Empire

Wizardry Empire is a Game Boy Color dungeon crawl derived from the Wizardry series. The objective is to guide a party through thirty dungeon levels to defeat the demon Cthulhu, with no broader narrative provided.

Character creation includes a gender attribute, which grants minor statistical benefits and determines access to certain character classes. The class system expands upon earlier series entries, introducing options like the Archer from the outset and several advanced promotions. A significant mechanical change allows characters to equip an item in each hand, enabling dual-wielding instead of a fixed weapon-and-shield setup.

Magic is organized into eight distinct categories, with some spells being class-specific. Spell names are descriptive of their function. The game also removes the series restriction on forming a party with characters of opposing alignments.
