Frogger 2

Review

Navigate vertically scrolling highways and rivers, collect gems, and reach safety in themed worlds.

Frogger 2 for Game Boy Color was developed by Game Titan and published by Majesco, released in 2000. This is a distinct game from the 1981 arcade Frogger and its 1997 sequel Frogger 2: Swampy's Revenge; the Game Boy Color title is its own original release, so both years are 2000.

About Frogger 2

Frogger 2 builds upon its predecessor by introducing vertically scrolling stages. These stages incorporate the series' traditional hazards of rivers and highways, with some limited horizontal movement.

The player progresses from the bottom to the top of a stage, where collectible gems and extra lives can be found. The journey is structured into multiple distinct worlds, each with its own visual theme. A mentor character named Tadius provides strategic advice during the adventure.

Progression is supported by a save function, allowing players to resume their game. Completed levels can be revisited, and checkpoints within stages offer restart points to mitigate the challenging navigation.
