About Surf's Up

Surf's Up for the Game Boy Advance adapts the animated film into a surfing title. The primary Championship mode offers Race and Freestyle events from the beginning, with a third Challenge option becoming available through specific Race victories. Progress is tied to performing well in these events, as winning races opens new stages, areas, characters, and minigames, while high scores in Freestyle unlock different surfboards.

Gameplay involves navigating through five distinct areas, each containing between one and three stages. In Race events, the objective is to finish among the top three against CPU opponents. Freestyle focuses on achieving a target trick score before crossing the finish line. The unlockable Challenge mode presents varied objectives such as defeating a rival surfer, performing a set number of tricks, or collecting items.

Separate from the main Championship, a set of minigames can be accessed. One is available immediately, with others unlocked through gameplay. These include a tile-matching puzzle on a grid, a memory-style game where players flip coins to create rows, and an underwater collection task where specific items must be gathered while avoiding hazards before time expires.
