About Space Trap
Space Trap was one of those games you'd find on a Flash portal in the late 2000s. It didn't have a big studio name attached to it, but it was a familiar sight for anyone browsing for a quick, free game to play. The graphics were simple, with clean lines and a dark space backdrop that made the colored ships stand out clearly. It fit right into that era of straightforward, browser-based action.
You control a small, stationary turret at the bottom of the screen. Waves of geometric enemy ships fly in from the top, each with a distinct color. Your primary weapon is a forward-facing gun, which you aim with your mouse to shoot down the red ships. The central mechanic is the shield, activated by turning your turret completely around to face the rear of the screen. This shield blocks shots from the blue ships, but it leaves you vulnerable to the red ones you can no longer shoot. Your objective is to survive as long as possible, constantly rotating to manage both threats. The pace is methodical at first, but it builds tension as the waves become denser and the color-coded attacks overlap. It feels like a focused test of timing and situational awareness, where a single misjudged turn ends your run.
