About Hard Court
Hard Court was one of those straightforward sports games you'd find in the Flash era. It came out in 2005, a time when a quick browser game was a reliable way to pass a few minutes. The setup was simple: two players, one basketball, and a court with no rules beyond getting the ball in the hoop.
You control a single player on a two-on-two court. Movement is direct, using either the WASD or arrow keys. The core loop is constant motion. You dribble, pass to your teammate, and look for an opening. The unique twist is the physicality; pressing the punch button lets you shove the opponent to steal the ball, turning defense into a sudden, aggressive scramble. The main objective is to outscore the other team, but the real focus becomes creating space through that shove or timing a shot just right to avoid a block. The pace is fast and a little chaotic, with possessions changing hands quickly after a successful punch or a stolen pass. It feels like a stripped-down, slightly rowdy version of basketball where every possession is a brief, contested fight.
