About Castle Defend
Castle Defend was one of those straightforward Flash games you'd find in the late 2000s. It didn't try to be anything more than a quick, satisfying way to pass time in a browser. You loaded it up, and within seconds you were in the action, with simple graphics and clear goals. It fit right into that era of accessible, single-screen strategy.
You control a lone archer stationed on a castle wall. Your view is fixed; you watch enemies approach from the left side of the screen. Your job is to stop them from reaching and breaching your gate. With the mouse, you aim and click to fire arrows. Between waves, you spend earned gold to buy upgrades, like stronger bows or additional defensive structures. The pace starts slow but builds steadily, with tougher units appearing that require precise shots. It creates a focused, almost rhythmic loop of shooting and spending. The game feels like a tense, personal stand against an endless march.
