About Bowman 1
Bowman 1 was one of those simple Flash games you'd find on a school computer or a free gaming site in the early 2000s. It didn't need a story or fancy graphics. You just opened it in a browser and started playing, which was the point of a lot of those early web games. It was a straightforward duel, you against another archer, with nothing else in the way.
You control a little archer on one side of a hill. The other archer stands on the opposite side. Your turn starts, and you use your mouse to aim. You click, drag to pull the bowstring, and release to fire. The angle and power of your shot are everything. You watch the arrow arc across the screen, hoping it lands. Then it's the other archer's turn to try and hit you. The objective is to knock your opponent off their perch by hitting them directly. The game has a quiet, almost thoughtful pace between shots, but a single hit ends the round. It feels like a patient, calculated game of one-upmanship.
