About Ys II Special

This remake of Ys II is a Korean-developed project that substantially reworks the original. While the foundational story and key locations remain recognizable, the narrative incorporates elements from an earlier anime adaptation.

Visual presentation is more detailed, with most environments redesigned and populated by different adversaries. The game world is expanded through the addition of entirely new zones and hidden areas not found in the initial release.

A significant mechanical addition is a dedicated button for active attacks, though the series' traditional bump combat system is retained for weaker foes. Saving is restricted to towns, but death allows the player to restart from the beginning of the current area without penalty, making the experience fair.
