About The Return of Medusa

The Return of Medusa shifts its conflict from a medieval past to a futuristic year 2200, where the antagonist Medusa has fled. The player, as Prince Cirion, must pursue her across this new setting, which introduces modern technology and firearms. Core progression involves locating thirteen keys hidden in dungeons scattered throughout the land.

Gameplay alternates between different modes. On the world map, travel and exploration occur in real time. Within cities, time pauses to allow for strategic management, where building a capable army and securing funds through trade, treasure hunting, or gambling are central activities. Army composition is a detailed consideration, with various races, classes, and weapons available.

A significant portion of the adventure occurs in first-person perspective dungeons. Here, the player can be accompanied by up to three party members to navigate these areas in real time, solving puzzles and engaging enemies with ranged combat. Occasional arcade-style sequences also appear, contributing to the game's varied structure.
