About Obitus

Obitus blends role-playing with action components, placing the player in the role of Wil Mason, a modern lecturer mysteriously transported to the fantasy realm of Middlemere. His quest involves uncovering the secret of his arrival and finding a path home within a land divided by four rival brothers.

Exploration occurs through a first-person perspective that offers smooth scrolling across eight directions, a technical feature that enhances the three-dimensional feel compared to contemporaries. This visual approach applies both to turning and moving forward through the environment.

Combat shifts to side-scrolling action sequences where the player uses a bow against enemies, requiring evasion of incoming attacks. This style of gameplay later extends to castle exploration, incorporating movement in four cardinal directions.
