About Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake

Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake is a stealth-focused game where avoiding detection is the primary objective. The player controls Solid Snake, a soldier sent into the isolated nation of Zanzibar Land to rescue a kidnapped scientist and recover his invention, a petroleum-purifying substance called oilix.

The mission is set in motion because Zanzibar Land, controlled by mercenaries, possesses both this valuable invention and nuclear weapons, posing a global threat. Gameplay involves using various weapons and gadgets, though these are not easily obtained, and direct combat is typically challenging if guards are alerted. Snake can hide, crawl, and use hand-to-hand attacks to navigate environments.

While stealth is central, the game also includes mandatory confrontations with bosses where evasion is not an option. The scenario follows Snake's previous success in dismantling another military state four years prior.
