About Alcatraz

Alcatraz is a DOS game where a U.S. Navy Seal must infiltrate the infamous prison, which has been seized by a drug baron. The mission must be accomplished within a two-hour limit, requiring the player to operate in three separate buildings.

Gameplay alternates between two distinct modes. Exterior sequences involve side-scrolling combat through streets, where enemies can be engaged with an arsenal of weapons like flamethrowers, machine guns, and bombs, often taken from defeated foes. The player can also use environmental features to take cover, similar to another title, Hostage: Rescue Mission.

Upon entering a building, the perspective shifts to a first-person view for navigating interior mazes. Objectives here include tasks such as recovering evidence, aided by a radar and a rifle. The need to master both combat styles and complete objectives under time pressure makes the overall experience challenging.
