About Frankenstein

Frankenstein is a side scrolling platformer with a cartoonish and humorous tone, despite its macabre subject matter. Players control the hunchback servant Egor, who is tasked by Baron Frankenstein with gathering various items from the castle, dungeons, forest, and village.

Gameplay revolves around a cycle of receiving an objective in the laboratory, then venturing out to locate the required object. The environment is populated by hostile creatures and townsfolk, which affect Egor's Frightometer. This meter replaces a traditional health system, increasing upon contact with enemies and causing Egor to drop his item and flee if it reaches maximum. It can be reset by delivering an item or by encountering a serving wench who calms him.

After retrieving a specific weather chart, a countdown timer of approximately 74 minutes is introduced. This creates a challenging final phase where all remaining items must be collected before an electrical storm arrives; failure to do so ends the game.
