About Daryl F. Gates’ Police Quest: Open Season

Daryl F. Gates' Police Quest: Open Season presents a homicide investigation set within the Los Angeles Police Department. The player assumes the role of Detective John Carey, whose inquiry into the murder of his former partner expands into a broader hunt for a serial killer, also involving the death of a young boy.

This fourth series entry departs from its predecessors by introducing a new protagonist and setting, while intensifying the focus on challenging procedural accuracy. Gameplay is built around examining evidence, interrogating persons of interest, and following investigative protocols, with a degree of freedom that allows for actions outside the core case, some of which prove fatal.

The adventure utilizes Sierra's standard icon-driven interface for environmental interaction. Its visual presentation is distinguished by the use of digitized, photorealistic imagery to depict scenes and characters.
