Review
Also known as
テクモスーパーNBAバスケットボール

Control real NBA teams, call plays, and compete in full seasons with battery backup.

Tecmo Super NBA Basketball for SNES was released in North America in March 1993 and in Japan on December 25, 1992; the earliest worldwide commercial release on the SNES platform is the Japanese release in 1992, but the game's original release on any platform is also the SNES version, so both years are 1992. However, the legacy year 1992 matches the Japanese SNES release, and the North American release was 1993. The earliest worldwide commercial release on SNES is 1992 (Japan).

About Tecmo Super NBA Basketball

Tecmo Super NBA Basketball is a sports simulation for the Super Nintendo that replicates professional basketball with licensed teams and athletes. It includes all twenty seven active franchises of the era and over three hundred twenty individual players.

Game modes support solo or two player competition, ranging from single exhibition matches to full, shortened, or abbreviated seasons. A battery backup preserves season progress and win loss records. Beyond fundamental actions like substitutions, fouls, and time outs, the game allows for calling set offensive plays during matches.

While the core perspective follows standard side scrolling court action, specific moments like free throws switch to a dedicated viewpoint. Digitized speech and brief cinematic sequences are incorporated to heighten the presentation during play.
