SD The Great Battle: Aratanaru Chōsen

SD The Great Battle: Aratanaru Chōsen is an action title for the Super Nintendo that unites characters from the Ultraman, Kamen Rider, and Gundam series, all rendered in a Super Deformed aesthetic. The narrative is set in motion by a malfunction in the SD Nation's environmental systems, which unleashes numerous hostile entities. This event prompts a rescue mission by the original Kamen Rider, Ultraman, and Gundam after their more powerful counterparts vanish during an initial investigation.

Gameplay unfolds across seven distinct stages, which include settings like floating islands and spacecraft, viewed from an overhead perspective. A core mechanic allows the player to freely swap between the three starting heroes during play. Each character possesses a standard firearm alongside a unique, more potent special weapon, the use of which is governed by an energy resource. This special energy can be replenished by locating a specific non-player character hidden within every level.

As players progress, they will encounter and eventually recover the missing heroes, expanding the roster of available fighters. The stages are populated with common adversaries and larger boss enemies drawn from the various franchises. The objective is for the assembled team to confront and overcome the overarching threat responsible for the crisis.
