Pit-Fighter was originally released in arcades in 1990 by Atari Games. The SNES version was released in 1991 by THQ.

About Pit-Fighter

Pit-Fighter is a fighting game presented from a third-person perspective. Its visual presentation utilizes digitized imagery of real people, enhanced with zooming camera effects.

Participants choose from a roster of three combatants: Buzz, Ty, or Kato. The competition involves a series of bouts where players face successive opponents. After each victory, a player's performance is quantified through several monetary rewards, including bonuses for knockouts and particularly brutal techniques, as well as a standard fight purse.

The tournament structure periodically introduces special contests. Every third match is designated a Grudge Match, which serves as a direct test of skill between the current participants. The progression culminates in an Elimination Match, the winner of which earns the right to challenge the reigning champion, known as the Masked Warrior.
