Magical Drop

Review
Also known as
Chain Reaction マジカルドロップ

Match and clear colored drops in this puzzle game using a grapple to prevent the screen from filling.

Magical Drop was originally released in arcades in 1995, and the Super Famicom (SNES) version was also released in 1995, making the SNES release year 1995 and the original release year 1995.

About Magical Drop

Magical Drop originated as a coin operated arcade title before receiving home console ports. The player controls a character fixed at the screen's bottom, tasked with preventing an encroaching mass of colored objects, known as drops, from reaching them.

To manage this challenging advance, the character uses a grapple to capture individual drops. These can be recolored and strategically repositioned. The primary method of clearing space involves forming horizontal or vertical lines of three or more matching colors, which then vanish.

Available modes include a story driven campaign, a competitive two player option, a puzzle challenge, and an endless survival format. Each mode utilizes this core matching mechanic to achieve different objectives.

This is not looking good.
Oh, dear. The drops got below the bottom of the screen.
I lost.
