FIFA: Road to World Cup 98

FIFA: Road to World Cup 98 is a soccer simulation centered on the qualification process for the 1998 FIFA World Cup. Its primary campaign allows players to guide a national team through regional qualifying systems and into the final tournament.

The presentation is enhanced by commentary from Des Lynam, John Motson, and Andy Gray. Audio design includes specific crowd chants for each team, and player models feature individualized hair and facial details. Matches take place across sixteen different stadiums.

Beyond the international focus, the game includes a club component with eleven leagues comprising 189 teams. Compared to earlier entries in the series, the on-field action is noted for its increased speed and more developed artificial intelligence.
