About Dark Kingdom

Dark Kingdom presents a role reversal within the standard Japanese RPG framework, casting the player as a mercenary aligned with the antagonist's forces. The protagonist, Gene Dorman, serves the Demon King directly, undertaking assigned missions that advance his standing within the dark hierarchy.

Progression is tied to completing these objectives in a set sequence, with each success increasing Gene's rank. This advancement unlocks new areas of the Demon King Castle and grants access to additional capabilities. He is accompanied in his tasks by other members of the dark legion, who form his combat party.

The narrative involves a destined encounter with a traditional hero named Lux, with whom Gene shares an unexplained link. Turn based battles are conducted from a first person viewpoint, and the game world operates on a day and night cycle.
