About Congo's Caper

Congo's Caper is a side-scrolling platformer where players control a transformed monkey named Congo. His journey begins after a magical ruby alters his form and causes a demon to kidnap his companion, Congette.

The core gameplay involves navigating a series of levels accessed from a map. Congo can run, jump, climb, swim, and use a club to fight enemies. A unique mechanic ties his power to his form: taking damage reverts him from a half-human back into a vulnerable monkey, and another hit in this state costs a life.

Collectible rubies are central to progression and power. They can restore Congo's human form or, when collected in that state, temporarily transform him into an invincible Super Congo. Other items provide benefits, such as extra lives for gathering diamonds or bonus chances from sapphires that activate a slot machine.

This title functions as a sequel to Joe & Mac, sharing similar controls and design. The objective remains consistent: traverse diverse jungle environments to complete the rescue mission.
