Control one of four mutants to stop Magneto's virus in a side-scrolling action game.

X-Men for the Sega Genesis, developed by Western Technologies and published by Sega, was released in 1993. This is the original game version, not a port of an earlier title, so the original release year is also 1993.

About X-Men

X-Men is a side scrolling action title adapted from the comic series. The narrative centers on a malfunction within Professor X's Danger Room, a sophisticated training simulator capable of generating realistic environments. This crisis is the result of a computer virus introduced by the mutant antagonist Magneto.

Players select from a roster of four primary characters: Gambit, Nightcrawler, Wolverine, and Cyclops. Beyond these core choices, the game provides the ability to summon four additional X-Men characters for assistance during play.
