Darius II Super Darius II スーパーダライアスII ダライアスII

A shoot 'em up with branching paths and aquatic-themed enemies.

Sagaia is the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive version of Darius II. The original arcade game (Darius II) was released in 1989, while the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive port, titled Sagaia, was released in 1990.

About Sagaia

Sagaia is the Western title for the second entry in Taito's Darius series, a shoot 'em up. Its gameplay is noted for a non-linear progression system and for featuring enemy designs based on various forms of seafood.

The narrative involves Proco Jr. and Tiat Young, descendants of the original planet Darius, who intercept a distress signal from the galaxy. They pilot the Silverhawk spacecraft to confront a hostile force, continuing a story that began with the ruin and subsequent rebirth of their homeworld into the planet Orga.
