Radical Rex

Review
Also known as
Baby T-Rex

Control a skateboarding dinosaur who breathes fire to save his species across 10 prehistoric levels.

Radical Rex was released for the Sega Genesis in 1994 by Activision. The game was originally developed by Beam Software and released on multiple platforms in 1994, with the Genesis version being one of the initial releases.

About Radical Rex

Radical Rex features a skateboarding Tyrannosaurus who must rescue other dinosaurs from an evil spell. The setting is prehistoric, with ten levels to navigate.

Gameplay involves movement on a skateboard and gliding, alongside attacks like kicking and fire breath. Enemies range from flies and toads to various dinosaurs, with some requiring multiple hits. Defeated foes are finished with a kick after being burned, or cleared from the screen using a special scream attack.

Collectible items include eggs, health restoratives, and power-ups for his fire and scream abilities. Checkpoints are activated by breathing fire on torches. A bonus round after each level, reminiscent of Bomberman, offers a chance to earn an extra continue.
