About Marsupilami

Marsupilami is a platform game for the Sega Genesis starring the long-tailed creature of the same name, originally created by Belgian cartoonist Franquin. The narrative begins with Marsupilami and an elephant named Bonelli being captured from the Palombian jungle and sold to a circus. After escaping with the help of his tail, Marsupilami, aided by friends, works to return home.

The core gameplay revolves around guiding Bonelli through each stage, which introduces a challenging time limit. Marsupilami's primary tool is his prehensile tail, which can be transformed into various useful shapes. However, to create structures like stairs, bridges, or an umbrella, the player must first locate specific ability icons within the level. One tail form, a giant fist, is always available and serves both to defeat guards and to redirect Bonelli's movement.

Fruits collected during play serve a dual purpose: they contribute to the player's score and can be strategically dropped to slow Bonelli's progress. The central objective of navigating the elephant past obstacles, rather than confronting numerous enemies, defines the game's unique structure within the platform genre.
