About Liberty or Death

Liberty or Death is a turn based strategy game set during the American Revolutionary War. Players select either the Continental Army or the British Royal Army to command, with each side offering a choice of three historical generals to lead their forces.

Management of the war effort is a core activity, requiring the allocation of funds from supportive states to pay troops, build naval strength, and raise new regiments. Naval power can be used to blockade and raid enemy shipping, potentially capturing goods to supplement the treasury. The political landscape includes various militias and the potential for formal alliances with French and Spanish armies.

Combat is presented from a top down perspective and features period specific unit types such as infantry, cavalry, artillery, and guerrilla fighters. Naval units like fleets and fire ships can participate in battles that occur near coastlines. The game's systems model the conflict's strategic and economic dimensions, where maintaining financial and political support is as crucial as military success.
