Rescue Marian by fighting through city streets using martial arts and found weapons.

Double Dragon was originally released in arcades in 1987. The Sega Genesis version was released in 1992 by Accolade in North America and by Sega in other regions.

About Double Dragon

Double Dragon is a side scrolling action game where players control one of two martial artist brothers, Billy or Jimmy Lee. Their goal is to rescue Billy's girlfriend Marian, who has been taken by a gang called the Black Warriors. The gang's leader, Willy, demands the brothers' fighting secrets in exchange for her return.

The setting moves through several urban and wilderness areas, including a city slum and an industrial zone, culminating in the gang's hideout. Characters utilize a range of hand to hand combat techniques and can pick up weapons found in the environment to use against enemies. A primary offensive move is an elbow strike that provides a temporary advantage.

Beyond the main rescue story, the game includes a separate competitive mode for two players. In this mode, players select from a roster that includes the protagonists and several enemy characters to fight in one on one matches. Victory is achieved by depleting the opponent's health through attacks, which can include the use of weapons.
