About Battle Master

Battle Master is a medieval fantasy strategy game where players manage a small squad in combat. The experience is considered challenging, with frequent character death and environmental traps posing constant threats.

Before beginning, a player selects from one of four races: Human, Orc, Dwarf, or Elf. Each race possesses distinct advantages and drawbacks that influence strategy. Progression involves defeating enemies in various areas and locating equipment to improve the capabilities of the player's character and their companions.

Direct control of the squad leader is action-focused, utilizing separate buttons for melee and projectile attacks. A central menu provides commands for travel, rallying troops, adjusting formations, and using items. A "Parley" function within this menu allows for the purchase of goods or a Safe Pass to bypass a region, though selling items is not an option. The effectiveness of different character classes varies, with some being more dependent on their teammates for support.

In terms of genre comparison, the game shares thematic and visual similarities with titles like Rage of Mages, though it emphasizes squad action over deeper role-playing or real-time tactics systems.
