Race motocross bikes on side-scrolling tracks, using precise jumps and managing engine heat.

Excitebike was originally released in Japan for the Famicom in 1984, but the NES version was first released in North America in 1985.

About Excitebike

Excitebike is a motocross racing game where players control riders on dirt tracks. The objective involves completing laps as quickly as possible, either in a solo time trial or in competition against other racers.

The game provides a selection of five pre-designed courses. These tracks feature various configurations of straight sections, ramps for jumps, and other obstacles that must be navigated.

A notable feature is a track editor, which allows for the creation of custom courses. Users can place jumps and obstacles of different types and sizes, and also set the number of laps for a race. These custom tracks can then be tested in the same racing modes against the clock or other riders.
