About NBA All Star Challenge 2

NBA All Star Challenge 2 is a Game Boy sports title structured around six distinct basketball mini games. Players select from 27 real NBA athletes representing the 1991 league rosters before engaging in these activities, which support both single-player and two-player competition via a link cable.

The gameplay focuses on one-on-one variants and skill challenges. A standard one-on-one match confined to the basket area can be won by reaching a set point total or by having the highest score when time expires. Other tests include a free throw exercise with a moving target cursor and a three-point contest where shots are taken from five perimeter positions.

New to this sequel is a Slam Dunk mode, which replaces the H.O.R.S.E. game from the original. Here, a dunk type is chosen from a list and executed with timed button presses from a side view. An Accuracy Shootout tasks the player with making shots from various court positions, requiring them to retrieve missed balls, while a Tournament mode organizes one-on-one matches into a knockout bracket. Several mini games offer both training and competitive variants, with the three-point and dunk practices providing timing assistance.
