Review
Also known as
Kwirk: Er ist verw-irre-nd! Kwirk: He's A-Maze-Ing! Puzzle Boy パズルボーイ

Guide a tomato through maze-like puzzles by pushing boxes and manipulating doors.

Kwirk (Puzzle Boy) was originally released in Japan for Game Boy in 1989, while the North American release as Kwirk occurred in 1990. The legacy year 1989 corresponds to the original Japanese Game Boy release, but the earliest worldwide commercial release for the Game Boy version is 1989 in Japan. However, since the record lists alternate names including the Japanese title, the platform version's earliest release is 1989. The original release year is also 1989 as the Game Boy was the original platform.

About Kwirk

Kwirk presents a puzzle experience where the player assists a tomato character in navigating through a series of levels. Obstacles such as boxes and holes block the path, requiring the player to manipulate the environment by moving boxes out of the way or into holes to create a passable route.

The complexity increases as the game advances, with levels growing larger and incorporating more intricate designs. Some stages introduce additional characters that must be controlled to aid the primary tomato in reaching the exit. Various types of spinning doors also form part of the environmental challenges.

This progression makes the gameplay gradually more challenging, as the player must manage these interconnected systems to solve each puzzle.
