About Kaeru no tame ni Kane wa Naru (EN)

Kaeru No Tame Ni Kane Wa Naru is an action-adventure title where the player controls Prince Sablé. His journey begins after his rival, Prince Richard, departs to rescue a princess first. Sablé's quest is complicated by a curse that transforms him into a frog whenever a specific bell rings, an ability that later becomes key for accessing new areas.

The gameplay alternates between two perspectives. A top-down view is used for general exploration and combat, while a side-scrolling view focuses more on environmental puzzles. Combat encounters are automatic, triggered by contact with enemies, and resolve through a scuffle where health drains from both parties. Sablé can improve his chances by finding items that boost his health, power, and defense.

Progress is structured around a large central castle, which opens in sections as story objectives are met. The primary aims are to lift the transformative curse, rescue the princess, and fully conquer this castle, guiding the player through a segmented exploration of the world.
