Makaimura Gaiden : The Demon Darkness

Makaimura Gaiden: The Demon Darkness casts the player as Firebrand, a warrior defending his home realm from an invading force. The experience alternates between two distinct modes of play.

One mode involves navigating a top-down world map and villages, where interaction with other characters drives the narrative and provides access to equipment. The other is a side-scrolling action mode where Firebrand utilizes a moveset that includes jumping, wall-clinging, temporary flight, and projectile attacks.
