Turok: Rage Wars

Review

Battle mutated dinosaurs across planets using simulated 3D movement and varied weapons.

Turok: Rage Wars for Game Boy Color was developed by Bit Managers and published by Acclaim in 1999, the same year as the Nintendo 64 version; it is a distinct handheld version, not a port of the N64 game.

About Turok: Rage Wars

Turok: Rage Wars for Game Boy Color is a single-player action game set across four planets. The player controls Turok, who fights against Bionosaurs and Dinosoids to prevent Earth's destruction.

This entry departs from the series' earlier side-scrolling format by using a simulated 3D perspective. This allows for freer movement and alters the combat, making enemies challenging to defeat. The gameplay primarily involves combat with a mix of primitive and advanced weaponry against mutated dinosaurs.

While some environmental puzzles are present, the focus remains on direct confrontation. The software requires a Game Boy Color system and is not functional on earlier monochrome Game Boy models.
